The A-10 Adventures Continue
(The James Hook Lobster Company Fire)

On Friday morning May 30, 2008, we were dispatched to Boston Box 12-1293 for the James Hook Lobster Company on Atlantic Avenue.  As we know this fire went to seven alarms and we have all watched this place over the years waiting.

Paul Boudreau and Tom Leone responded and set up a rehab in front of the building and worked with W-25, as well as setting up numerous coolers around the fireground operations area. During the course of this fire we dispensed to the troops 25 cases of water, 17 dozen donuts,11 Gallons of coffee, 5 gallons of Gatorade, 11 cases of granola bars, cookies, crackers, 2 cases of chips, 1 case of soda, four dozen bagels and ten pizzas. A-10 remained on scene until 13:00 hours and the truck was depleted of every supply item. As this fire escalated A-30 and the Red Cross showed up and they were advised that A-10 was in charge of the rehab and they reported to us. The new "crew" of A-30 is a husband and wife team and they were wonderful to work with, they did everything we asked for. The Red Cross was also very helpful and they brought the Red Cross credit card which we had them use to buy numerous dozens of donuts, bagels, water and boxes of Joe which were promptly deposited in our BSA marked urn for dispensing to the troops. The Brasserie Restaurant in the Intercontinental Hotel provided ice for us as well.

This was a well orchestrated operation that again shined a very positive light on the BSA, you can't buy good publicity like this!
