"Helping Us Help Them"
The Boston Sparks Association owns
and operates a canteen truck which is called out for
multiple alarm fires and other emerg ency
incidents where there will be an extended amount of
time that firefighters and other emergency personnel
will be on scene to render it safe and secure. The
energy that is sucked out of these men and women is
unparalleled. It is for that reason that these
canteen (or rehab) trucks exist throughout the
country. The other half of the story is Murphy's
Law: when a major fire happens it is usually very
hot and humid or under frigid conditions. These
incidents normally have dozens of personnel working
who require many gallons of fluids, hot or cold, to
rehydrate them.
The Boston Sparks Association is
seeking your support to help fund the efforts to
maintain the operation of the canteen truck. The
costs incurred to keep the truck in operation have
spiraled out of control. It is for this reason that
the Club seeks your support. Being a 501 (c)(3)
Organization, your contribution/donation is 100% tax
deductible
Many, many fire and police unions
contribute to the fund now which is a tremendous
asset and these same unions contribute year after
year. We thank them for their continued generosity
and support. Our mission has not changed in our 45
year history. The costs to keep the program running
have.
